SOME TEXTS FROM THE 2001 MDHS PRODUCTION OF ANTIGONE |
|||||||||
These texts go with the sound files, mainly because the words aren't always clear on the mp3's. "Never more will the wind," "Crocuses," & "Lethe" are all by H.D., & as explained on the main Antigone page, were interpolated into the play. I "assembled" the Ode of Entry & the Third & Fourth Choral odes by working with the Fitts/Fitzgerald & Watling translations of Antigone, & by re-translating some of the material. | |||||||||
NEVER MORE WILL THE WIND
(H.D.) Never more will the wind cherish you again, never more will the rain. Never more shall we find you bright in the snow and wind. The snow is melted, the snow is gone, and you are flown: Like a bird out of our hand, Like a light out of our heart, you are gone. |
